What is Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners are made to fit exactly over your teeth. Different sets of Invisalign braces are worn for couple of weeks at a time, slowly putting pressure to your teeth, so they slowly move into their straight position.
Unlike fixed braces, which feature brackets glued to your teeth, you can remove Invisalign for about 2 hours per day where you can eat, clean your teeth etc.

What is the Invisalign treatment process?

At Hyland Dental Care we understand treatment like this is a big commitment and we offer a free consultation to discuss your treatment options and what would be involved exactly and answer any questions you may have.

Following on from this we may proceed to check your mouth (patients need to be dentally fit before treatment) we then maybe take xrays of your teeth and impressions also.

If we proceed further we can arrange for a digital computer demonstration showing you before, during and after positions of your teeth.

A series of custom-made aligners are then produced for you. You should wear your aligners for 20-22 hours each day to get the best results.

Every week you will switch to a new set of aligners and have a check-up to see how the treatment is progressing. With Invisalign go most cases will take a few months

To protect your lovely new straight teeth, you will need to wear retainers (removable plastic braces to be worn overnight) so your teeth don’t start to shift out of position.

Who can wear Invisalign?

Invisalign braces are suitable for most adults who want straighter teeth, and can treat most cosmetic issues you may have with crowding or spaced teeth,Invisalign Teen braces, meanwhile, can only be used to treat some teenagers.
